When installing railing, it’s vital for your posts to be plumb — or perfectly vertical. Many common installation issues stem from posts that are not properly set. When posts are securely straight, up and down, installing your railing is much simpler.
Cable Bullet’s aluminum posts are designed to be fixed to a variety of foundation materials, and every post comes standard with four leveling screws designed for use on hard, irregular surfaces like concrete or stone. Our leveling screws also help on surfaces considered quite smooth or flat.
For surfaces built of softer woods (such as pine) or composite, it is recommended to use our post leveling plates to decrease direct pressure to the installation surface and reduce potential damage.
Cable Bullet’s post leveling plates are made to absorb pressure caused by adjusting and tightening your mounting screws and leveling screws. Significant pressure can result when working to achieve a plumb post, and our leveling plate provides a solid surface between the post base and your decking material.
In addition to helping with accuracy, using a leveling plate is faster and easier than utilizing washers or shims to level your railing.
PLEASE NOTE: Aluminum posts, handrail and post leveling plates are NOT suitable for use in exterior coastal applications. Signature and Summit series railing is designed for inland exterior and interior projects. Exposure to salt will cause accelerated oxidation and galvanic corrosion between aluminum and stainless components.
