Selecting the Correct Screw Length

Cable Bullet post mounting screws are designed to fit the most common interior and exterior applications. Whether top or side mount, your posts MUST be anchored to the structural frame of your project (joists, blocking, etc). Once installed, all 3" of threading on the mounting screws should be engaged in structural material. If mounting posts directly into structural material, use 3-1/2" mounting screws. If mounting posts through a veneer, trim board, or other non-structural material, use the longer 4-1/2" mounting screws.

Properly installed, Cable Bullet railing will withstand the applied cable rail tension (150 lbs. per cable) and secure against a 200 lb. concentrated load as specified by the International Residential Code (IRC). It is the installer's responsibility to ensure that the supporting structure is able to handle the sustained cable rail tension and withstand a concentrated load.
