How to Use the Cable Bullet Crimper

The Cable Bullet crimper is a modified YYQ-300 16-ton manual hydraulic crimper equipped with a custom die set designed for use with Cable Bullet crimp sleeves and 5/32” diameter cable.
PRO TIP: Place your crimper on a protective surface to avoid inadvertently damaging softer or finished floors during the crimping process.
uSING THE cRIMPER
To engage the crimper, turn the knob E to the ON position. Begin pumping the movable handle F to advance the piston and close the die. Continue pumping until the two halves of the die have securely closed around the crimp. The amount of effort required will vary. A properly seated crimp will have a distinct hexagonal imprint (see example below). If your finished crimp shows only a faint impression, repeat the process with additional force. To release the dies, turn the knob to the OFF position.
IMPORTANT: Check your first few crimps and adjust your process as needed. A weak crimp may fail under tension, compromising your railing. However, excessive pressure beyond what is required may damage the crimper tool.
Care & Maintenance
To maintain optimal performance over time, store your crimper in its case, away from moisture. After repeated use, check the oil reservoir. If necessary, refill using an SAE grade 15 hydraulic oil. To access the oil reservoir, unscrew and remove the fixed handle Iand oil valve J. Carefully pump the movable handle several times to release any trapped air in the oil reservoir. When you're finished, replace the oil plug and attach the fixed handle.
If your crimper is leaking oil, first unscrew and remove the fixed handle I and if necessary, tighten the oil reservoir plug J. If the leak is coming from the crimper head, please contact us for a replacement unit.
Insufficient Hydraulic Pressure
If your crimper is not generating sufficient hydraulic pressure, you will notice a distinct hissing noise as you pump the movable arm. This is likely the result of an internal misalignment of the ON/OFF knob. Using a rubber mallet, firmly tap the face of the knob twice. Repeat if necessary.
