Aluminum and Stainless-Steel Cable Railing Systems

Effective Date: December 1, 2025

1. WARRANTY COVERAGE

This Limited Warranty is provided by Cable Bullet (“Manufacturer,” “we,” us,” or “our”) to the original purchaser (“Customer,” “you,” or “your”) of our aluminum and stainless-steel cable railing systems.

1.1 Scope

This warranty applies solely to the physical components manufactured and supplied by Cable Bullet. Manufacturer is a product supplier only and does not perform, supervise, or warrant installation services.

1.2 Structural Warranty (10 Years)

We warrant that the structural components of our cable railing systems, including posts, rails, cables, and mounting hardware, will be free from defects in materials and workmanship under normal use for a period of ten (10) years from the date of original purchase.

1.3 Finish Warranty (5 Years)

We warrant that the finish on our aluminum and stainless-steel components will not peel, flake, blister, or corrode under normal use and proper maintenance for a period of five (5) years from the date of original purchase.

1.4 Lighting Component Warranty

The following warranty periods and terms apply specifically to lighting components manufactured or supplied by Cable Bullet:

  • LED Light Strips: Five (5) years from the date of purchase.
  • Power Supply & Control Units: One (1) year from the date of purchase.

Adhesive & Colorfastness (EXCLUDED): We do not warrant the performance of light strip adhesive (the bond to the rail) or the colorfastness of any lighting component. Customer acknowledges that adhesion and color integrity (including "yellowing") are highly dependent on site-specific UV exposure and environmental conditions.

Coastal Prohibition: Lighting components are not recommended for coastal applications. Any installation of lighting components within one (1) mile of a coastal or saltwater environment voids all warranties for those specific components.

2. COASTAL PRODUCTS & SPECIAL ENVIRONMENTAL EXCLUSIONS

Statements in this Section 2 supersede all other warranty claims in this document for applicable projects.

2.1 Coastal Warranty Eligibility

We provide a 10-year structural warranty and a 5-year finish warranty for "Coastal-Rated" projects installed within one (1) mile of the coast. For the purposes of this warranty, "Coastal-Rated" products are limited to:

  • Signature Select Collection: All stainless-steel posts and railing systems.
  • Specific Components: Type 316 and 2205 stainless steel tensioners and cable.
  • Premium Aluminum Finish: Only aluminum components finished with AAMA 2605-rated powder coat.

2.2 Prohibited Coastal Products (Void Within 1 Mile)

Standard aluminum railing and components finished with AAMA 2604-rated powder coat are not coastal-rated. Installation of these products within one (1) mile of the coast or other saltwater environments voids all warranty coverage for finish adhesion, fading, and corrosion.

2.3 Definition of Corrosion

Corrosion is defined as a structural and permanent defect in the metal that compromises its integrity. Surface-level oxidation, "tea staining," salt-air staining, or contamination that can be removed through cleaning or maintenance is NOT considered corrosion and is strictly excluded from coverage.

2.4 Approved Applications (Coastal/Marine Exposure)

Cable Bullet warrants T316 Stainless Steel components for use in "Coastal Environments," defined as installations subject to marine air, salt-laden fog, and indirect atmospheric salt exposure (e.g., balconies, decks, and exterior staircases).

2.5 Maintenance Requirement

To maintain warranty coverage in Coastal Environments, surfaces must be rinsed with fresh water following any indirect exposure to salt spray or contaminants to prevent chloride buildup and surface oxidation.

2.6 Express Exclusions (Direct Saltwater Contact)

This warranty does not cover damage, corrosion, or structural failure resulting from direct or repeated contact with saltwater. Prohibited "Direct Contact" includes, but is not limited to:

  • Immersion or Spray: Docks, piers, or railings extending into or directly over bodies of water.
  • Pool Splash Zones: Installations within ten (10) feet of a swimming pool or hot tub (saltwater or traditional chlorine).
  • Direct Exposure: Frequent splashing from storms, waves, or pool activities.

2.7 Design Limits

Customer acknowledges that chloride levels in saltwater and traditionally chlorinated pools exceed the design limits of T316 Stainless Steel. Daily or weekly exposure to saltwater spray or pool water constitutes a "High-Chloride Environment" which is outside the intended use of the Goods and voids all expressed or implied warranties

3. WARRANTY REGISTRATION

This warranty requires both (i) installation of the product within ninety (90) days of product purchase date, and (ii) registration of the product warranty within thirty (30) days of installation of the product. To activate your warranty coverage, you must register your purchase within thirty (30) days of installation by completing the form at https://www.cablebullet.com/pages/warranty. Registration must include proof of purchase, and installation location. Failure to install or register within these strict timeframes will void all warranty coverage.

4. WARRANTY EXCLUSIONS

4.1 This warranty does NOT cover:

a.    Improper Environment

Damage or deterioration resulting from installation or use in environments including but not limited to:

  • Marine or coastal environments with saltwater exposure (except for products that are 316 or 2205 stainless and rated for coastal use).
  • Areas with excessive chemical exposure (chlorine, acids, caustic cleaners)
  • Areas within ten (10) feet of a swimming pool or hot tub (saltwater or traditional chlorine)
  • Industrial environments with corrosive fumes or pollutants
  • Areas subject to abnormal physical or thermal stress

Note: Lighting components are strictly excluded from all coastal installations.

b.    Improper Maintenance

Damage resulting from:

  • Failure to perform regular cleaning and maintenance as specified in the product care instructions
  • Use of abrasive cleaners, harsh chemicals, or inappropriate cleaning methods
  • Accumulation of debris, dirt, or corrosive materials
  • Failure to promptly address surface damage or exposed metal

c.    Installation-Related Issues

Defects or failures resulting from installation: MANUFACTURER DOES NOT WARRANT INSTALLATION. Any defects, failures, or damages resulting from or related to the installation of the system are strictly excluded.

d.    Attached Products and Third-Party Components

Defects in or failures caused by:

  • Products not manufactured or supplied by us
  • Incompatible components or accessories
  • Third-party modifications or additions to the railing system

e.    Unauthorized Modifications

Any alterations, modifications, or repairs made to the product without our prior written authorization, including:

  • Cutting, drilling, welding, or otherwise altering components in a manner inconsistent with installation instructions and/or intended use
  • Modifications to the finish or coating
  • Structural modifications affecting the integrity of the system

f.    Other Exclusions

  • Normal wear and tear, fading, or minor cosmetic imperfections that do not affect structural integrity.
  • Damage from accidents, abuse, misuse, or acts of nature (hurricanes, tornadoes, earthquakes, lightning, etc.)
  • Maintenance of Exposed Metal: Surface-level oxidation on stainless steel components resulting from a failure to perform regular cleaning (Note: for stainless steel, "exposed metal" refers to any surface where contamination has not been promptly removed).
  • Damage from fire, flood, or other force majeure events
  • Damage during shipping, handling, or storage prior to installation
  • Color variations between different production lots
  • Minor surface scratches or scuffs occurring during or after installation
  • Surface-level oxidation, "tea staining," discoloration, or contamination that can be removed through cleaning or maintenance (Note: This is not considered corrosion. For the purposes of this warranty, corrosion is defined as a structural and permanent defect in the metal that compromises its integrity.)
  • Adhesion Failure: Failure of light strip or wire concealment raceway adhesives to remain bonded to the rail.
  • UV Discoloration: Yellowing, fading, or color shifts of lighting components, plastics, or adhesives due to UV exposure.
  • Non-registered products

5. ASSUMPTION OF RISK

5.1. Assumption of Risk

Manufacturer has no control over site conditions, structural substrates, or the quality of labor. The Customer assumes all risks and liability associated with the selection of an installer and the execution of the installation.

5.2 Safe Harbor & Professional Consultation

Because building codes and structural requirements vary by jurisdiction, Manufacturer strongly recommends that the Customer consult with a licensed professional engineer (PE) or a certified structural professional to verify that mounting surfaces, anchoring methods, and local wind/load requirements are met prior to installation.

5.3 Code Compliance

It is the Customer’s sole responsibility to ensure the final installation is compliant with all applicable laws and safety regulations.

6. REMEDIES & LIMITATIONS

6.1 What We Will Do

If a valid claim is approved, we will, at our sole discretion, replace the defective component or provide a store credit equal to the original purchase price. We reserve the right to inspect the site at our expense.

6.2 What We Will Not Do

This warranty specifically excludes all labor costs for removal or reinstallation, shipping/freight charges, travel expenses, and any incidental or consequential damages.
