Novel use of Masonry & Wood Rail Tensioners

"The hardware is of excellent quality. The system had been super-well thought out . I used your system, with minor necessary modifications, to create a rather novel protective barrier to prevent my collection of liquor bottles from tumbling down during the occasional earthquakes here in Los Angeles. I am actually quite proud of the result !!"

Cable Bullet is high quality

"Cable Bullet is high quality product, from the quick delivery, to the presentation of the packaging, to the amazing customer service. I’m a DIYer and I’ve used several different cable rail systems. By far the best quality hardware & cable."

Definitely added to the look.

"Definitely added to the look. It is very labor intensive but I think it’s because I have a very large frontage. Wished I could buy parts separately like the anchors since I made a mistake on a previous pillar and had to order a whole new set. Overall happy with the outcome and the product."

Great design

"This system gives a clean wire solution without bulky turnbuckles and complicated crimping. Out application is a hanging wall and the cable bullet provides the tension to hold the wall and keep it secure."

"The products were great. The directions on line were easy to follow. There was a bit of an issue with shipping but the head of customer service Julia did an amazing job of getting ahead of the issue and resolving it quickly. Attached are some photo's. Total project was ~ 50feet of railing with 12 cables 3 inches apart. The cable cutting and crimping is better with two people. If you could offer a tool for double crimping in one motion would help. Also I would recommend Quickrete High Strength Epoxy."

"Beautifully machined and an excellent design exactly what I had been searching for"

Great product!

"At first I was a little intimidated. After watching the instillation video it was smooth sailing. Had issues with the brick instillation, so I’m trying another route.🤞"

"I was skeptical but it held!"

Wood system works well. Masonry system doesn’t work.

"First the bad to caution others. The masonry sleeve doesn’t expand to hold the brick around it and the epoxy glue I used didn’t hold when tensioning the cables. This system shouldn’t be used for masonry. I have left the cables slack and worry if someone falls onto them it might not hold The bullet system for wood worked fine and looks clean once installed"

Q&A

In regards to your masonry kit(s), ... The “Epoxy Anchor” (Part A) is ¾” in diameter. The masonry drill bit recommended is ¾”. This does not give any room for the epoxy! Is the epoxy expected to surround the “anchor”? Please explain.
Great question, Jerry! The 3/4" measurement refers to the head of the tensioner which protrudes from the anchor that is embedded in the masonry. The external diameter of the epoxy sleeve itself is slightly smaller (approx. 0.7"). This allows for a snug, but secure fit with the epoxy. I apologize that this dimension was not shown!
Do you ship to Puerto rico?
We do ship to Puerto Rico, Alex! If you have any questions about shipping rates, our support team would be happy to help you! (574) 742-2737.
Is that per piece price
Hi Mike - yes. The price you see on this kit includes: 1 Cable Bullet tensioner for metal posts, 1 epoxy anchor, the cable fittings you'll need for 1 end of your cable, and the set screw to tension it.
The span between the pillars is 10-12ft. With the horizontal cable system, will I require any support between the pillars for the cables?
Hi Steve! You'll want to make sure your top rail (if you're installing a top rail) is supported according to the manufacturer's recommendations. We recommend cable support every 48", whether that's using a pass-through post or [cable spacer bar](https://www.cablebullet.com/products/cable-bullet-cable-spacer-bar).
Can the cable pass directly through this? I would like to use for floating shelves to be able to use at the bottom of each shelf I have three shelves about 12” apart one above the other
Hi Jack, sounds interesting! I'm not sure these will be a good fit though. The masonry kit is designed to be an anchor point. The attachment method requires using epoxy which would block any cable from passing completely through the column. Shoot us an email at info@cablebullet.com Attn. Chris and perhaps we can think through some alternate solutions for your project.
