Which cable cutter do I need?

We offer 2 options for cable cutters: our standard 6.5" Cable Cutters and our heavy-duty Cable Cutters for 2205 Duplex Stainless Steel Cable.

We recommend using the standard Cable Cutter if you are using 5/32" 7x7 T316 Stainless Steel Cable or Black 5/32" 7x7 T316 Stainless Steel Cable. These cutters are small but mighty and with a 300–500 cut rating will provide quality cuts for T316 cable for the duration of most cable railing projects—no problem.

If you are using 2205 Duplex Stainless Steel Cable, you have a particularly large project, or you just want to save on some cutting effort, we recommend upgrading to the Cable Cutter for 2205 Duplex Stainless Steel Cable. The 18" length and ultra-durable cutting notice add extra leverage and ensure that your blade will stay sharp for the duration of your project, even when using our most heavy-duty cable.
