The hardwood tap is an essential tool for preparing your domestic and tropical hardwood post holes before setting your Cable Bullet tensioners. Before setting your Cable Bullet tensioners, drill a 9/16" hole, then use the hardwood tap with a 1/2" drill/driver to tap the hole. This will ease the installation process in hardwood posts and minimize stress on your drill and Cable Bullet driver.
IMPORTANT! DO NOT tap softwood post holes. Cable Bullet tensioners are self-tapping in softwood posts including cedar, redwood, and pressure-treated pine. Using the hardwood tap in softwood posts will weaken the hold of the tensioner on the post and may result in partial or complete tear-out under tension.
Not suitable for use in metal posts.
Cable rail cost per foot will vary by layout and project specifics.
