Reviews

Looks great and good value.

"I choose Cable Bullet after a lot of time looking at different companies. Compared to several others in my neighborhood using various other brands, I think it looks much higher end. Heavy duty rails and posts. Easy to understand instructions, and beautiful."

Cable Bullet bulls eye!

"If you are “on the fence”about a railing project, don’t hesitate to go with Cable Bullet. Every step of my project with them was made so easy, getting an estimate and a materials list, reviewing “how to” guides and videos, and finally the install process itself. I would consider myself at a beginner/intermediate level and the Cable Bullet system was no problem with the well-thought out steps for posts, railings and cable. Materials were all very high quality and I am confident will last for years. Thank you Mick for the assistance and for forwarding the larger cable cutter!"

Steve S. (5/5)

Cable Lover

"I recently purchased and installed a system for my deck railing. Two stairwells and 2 small decks. I am a skilled craftsman and I found that this system should be installed by a seasoned craftsman. Not a project for a novice DIYer."

Steven K. (5/5)

Post installation

"Posts were attached to stone cap of a block wall. I worried about tolerances probably too much."

"Excellent customer service when putting together our plan. Fast shipping and very easy installation. Will be using again on outside deck project."

Follow the well-written instructions! You'll be glad you did!

"If you view the installation as a series of processes (e. g. posts, railing, and cables) - each with their own required steps - you should do fine. As an experienced contractor, I've learned to do my homework before starting an install - this paid off immeasurably. Cable Bullet instructions are very well-written and the online videos helped out enormously especially with the railing installation for non 90 degree corners. By taking my time and paying attention to details, we ended up with a beautiful installation that will be enjoyed by the owner for many years to come!"

Donald S. (5/5)

Great heavy duty product

"We mounted on a new concrete patio around a pool. Hardware was provided. We did have to stack some washer under hardware to get everything plumb. Y’all should include those in the hardware kits."

Q&A

What is the furthest distance allowed between 2 posts? I want to use these on my switchback staircase but would preferably only use 2 posts per stair case rather than 3. Each section is about 6.5 feet long.
Great question, Long. We recommend a maximum length of no longer than 4 feet between posts without any support, and a length of 7 feet with the use of a spacer bar or a line post. Since you are not wanting to use another post, we would recommend the use of our [Cable Spacer Bar](https://www.cablebullet.com/products/cable-bullet-cable-spacer-bar) to minimize deflection of the cable. If you have any other questions, feel free to reach out to our customer support team on our [Contact Us](https://www.cablebullet.com/pages/contact-us) page.
45 degree corner posts, Any such thing available? People with their fancy decks, lol. Also can you gets the aluminum posts unfinished?
Great questions, Larry. We do not carry any 45 degree posts, however, we do have some recommendations. If you are installing our Top Mount Posts, we would recommend you use one Two Way Post for the corner. You could place one side directly facing a post farther down to have a completely straight run. Since it is a 45 degree angle, the other side will not directly face another post. But if you use our 7x7 Cable and have it bent a little towards the other post, that will work fine. If you are installing our Side Mount Posts, we would recommend installing an end post on each side of the angle and having the handrail meet together between them at the 45 degree angle. In reference to purchasing unfinished aluminum posts, because of the process we use to create the posts, we do not sell unfinished versions. If you have any other questions please feel free to reach out through our Contact Us page on our website.
can i use a composite board for top rail
Hi Larry - as far as mounting a custom top rail to your posts, the stainless steel posts tops (included with every post) can be mounted to material with a flat underside. If you're using only composite boards, I'd highly recommend spacing your posts closer together to provide support for your top rail. You may also have issues with the composite boards bowing once your cables are tensioned. Another alternative is using our aluminum handrail, and mounting the composite board on top, if you're wanting a wider "drink rail" for your railing. Hope that's helpful! If you have any follow-up questions about your project specifics, please feel free to give us a call.
I am building a 16' X10' trex deck. I need 1 16' rail 36" high. In also need 2 10' rails, also 36" high. They do not need to connect to each other, as I intend to build 3 separate rails. what is the estimate material cost for this project?
Hey John - thanks for your interest in Cable Bullet! Our project support team would be happy to put together a cost estimate and a materials list for your project. Please fill out the form on our [Estimates page](https://www.cablebullet.com/pages/estimates), and you should hear back from our team with your estimate in 4-5 business days.
