"I struggled between kluging together the pieces from Amazon products or buying a professionally designed and manufactured product. Thankfully, I chose to go with Cable Bullet. I was totally impressed with the customer support that I received from design through receipt of the component parts. The components are of the highest quality, and the instructions are well written and easy to follow. I didn't use the drill guide and template but made my own since we were dealing with log poles instead of standard railing components. We used the railing to replace the log railing our cabin. The look is much cleaner, enhances the view from our deck and we will no longer have to worry about restaining the railing every year. I'm really happy that I decided to go with the Cable Bullet product rather than trying to piece together the components from multiple sources."

My only suggestion is for CB to offer the correct drill bit to bore the required holes in wood posts. It is nice to install something that you know will last forever."

"After spending a lot of time searching for the right railing system for my rooftop deck—and finding that most options didn’t work with its complexity—I finally discovered Cable Bullet. Their team was incredibly helpful, working closely with me to ensure the system was properly engineered for each of the unique installation conditions, including a single wood post, a concrete pillar and face-mounted deck railings. The system itself is excellent—easy to work with, thoughtfully designed, and visually clean. I especially love that I had the option to go with a full blackout look, including the cable. We had considered a glass railing system, but honestly, I think this is a cleaner look. Everything I needed came in the kit, from the wire to the cutter and crimper, which made installation straightforward and efficient. On top of that, their customer service was outstanding. I even had to make an exchange after ordering the wrong part, and the process was smooth and hassle-free. I can’t say enough about how happy I am with both the product and the experience."

Few issues for DIY'ers

"First off, they look great. The first problem I had was that they require a non standard drill size. I have a bunch of bits but not that one. My neighbor who has every tool in the world also didn't have it. So having to go buy a $20 bit that I won't use again for, in my case, 12 holes is a waste of money. The second problem I had was that I didn't realize that the crimper it needed was also kind of uncommon. So I had to go buy a $50 crimper that I will never use again for 12 holes, which is more money wasted. The third problem is that for the high price of the parts and saying that this is good for DIY, how about you throw in an extra of the really small parts. One mistake or one dropped and lost small part and you're done. In end, it looks good but it doesn't justify the extra cost I ended up putting into it for a small job. I can only blame myself there for not digging into the details."

What size cable is compatable with the standard size tension kit?
Hi, Lisa! Currently, all of our wood tensioners are compatible with 5/32" cable only. Let us know if you have anymore questions!
Is a kit for just one end of a cable or does is include bothe ends? Also, do crimp sleeves come with them?
Great question, Sean! Each Cable Rail Tensioner Kit comes with all the hardware needed to tension one end of cable: (1) tensioner, (1) crimp sleeve, (1) lobed washer, and (1) set screw. You will need (2) kits in order to tension (1) line of cable. Let us know if you have anymore questions!
