Stainless Steel & Aluminum Care & Maintenance

Maintaining the beauty of your stainless steel or aluminum railings is simple! For routine cleaning, you only need a mild dish soap solution and a soft microfiber cloth. Wipe down the railings to remove dust, dirt, and fingerprints. For tougher grime, a vinegar solution (equal parts vinegar and water) can be used. Avoid harsh chemicals, abrasive cleaners, and steel wool, as these can damage the surfaces. Remember to rinse thoroughly and dry with a clean cloth to prevent water spots.

Frequently Asked Questions

What qualifies as hardwood?

Hardwoods come from specific types of trees, not just from their appearance or properties. Generally, hardwoods have distinct, heavy grains, tend to be darker, are more resistant to scratches, and are denser, making them heavier than softwoods. Common hardwoods include Black Walnut, Hickory, Oak, Maple, Teak, Zebrawood, Ipe, Wenge, Poplar, Rosewood, Meranti, and Sapele.

Can I buy the Hardwood Kit at the hardware store?

Some items, such as screw wax, are available at other retailers. However, the Bullet Drivers and Hardwood Tap are manufactured exclusively for our system and cannot be found anywhere else.

— Daniel C. (5/5)

Fantastic system!

"Easy to use. If you are using it on a hard wood - be sure to get the hard wood installation kit and thread wax. Much cleaner looking than most other systems."

— Jeffrey G. (5/5)

Looks amazing, but a little more tedious than I expected.

"The reason for 4 stars is I found the system with the set screws somewhat challenging. If it’s not set in perfectly, and I mean perfectly the set screw will not sit well and possible strip the screw or ruin the thread on the bolt."

— Don A. (4/5)

Q&A

is that a standard pitch thread ? Can I use a 9/16 tap ?: Hi Peter - we haven't tested other taps besides our own, but you're welcome to try your own 9/16" tap for the Bullets going into hardwood. Our tap is custom-designed to match the threading on the Bullet tensioners. If you'd like to buy our hardwood tap individually, just in case, it's available a la carte [here](https://www.cablebullet.com/products/cable-bullet-hardwood-tap).
