The Post Hole Cover is an optional, decorative stainless steel trim ring designed for cable pass-through holes in wood, vinyl, and composite intermediate or line posts. It is ideal for pass-through posts along straight or angled cable runs, where a clean, finished look is desirable. Once installed, the stainless steel ring covers any visible wear around post holes, as well as minor wood splintering, blowout, or discoloration. The overall design and machined finish mimic the look and feel of Cable Bullet tensioners.
Post Hole Covers are made exclusively in the USA from type 316 stainless steel and are rated for indoor or outdoor use.
Each post hole cover includes one mounting screw and requires a T10 star drive bit for installation.
1.) Measure and mark the location of your cable pass-through hole.
2.) Drill a 3/16-inch hole through your intermediate post.
3.) Use a T10 x 2" star drive power bit to secure each post hole cover with a #4-24 x 5/8" stainless steel star drive socket head cap screw.
NOTE: To avoid over-tightening and snapping screws, use a manual multi-bit screwdriver. The screw will self-tap in softwood posts. For hardwood posts, thin aluminum (1/16" thick), and composite or vinyl sleeves drill a 3/32" pilot hole.
